When you register for and use VibeBackers, we may collect and store information such as your email address, authentication method, and account identifiers needed to keep your account secure and the platform working properly.
We may also store profile information you choose to provide, including your display name, avatar, banner image, public bio, preferred currency, linked public URLs, and the privacy and notification preferences you choose in your settings.
If you create or manage a campaign, we may store campaign and verification-related data, including linked GitHub account and repository metadata, verification status, project proof, milestone materials, and review, moderation, or trust and safety records connected to that project.
We also store platform activity data needed to operate the service, such as campaigns you create or edit, pledges you make, milestone and sprint activity, rewards, votes, comments, messages, notifications, trophies, and contribution history where relevant to the platform experience.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
VibeBackers does not directly store your full card details, bank account numbers, or identity verification documents used for regulated payment or payout processing.
Payment processing and payout onboarding are handled through third-party providers such as Stripe. Sensitive payment credentials and identity verification materials are submitted directly to those providers under their systems and terms.
We may retain transaction and payout-related metadata needed to operate the platform and show account history, such as pledge amounts, transaction dates, payment and collection status, payout status, and relevant billing or connected-account references used for support and platform operations.
VibeBackers includes account-level privacy controls so you can manage how much of your activity is visible to others.
Depending on the settings currently available on the platform, you may be able to control:
These controls can be changed from your dashboard settings.
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the platform working and to understand how it is being used.
Essential cookies are used for core platform functions such as authentication, session continuity, and security.
We may also use analytics and measurement tools to understand platform performance, reliability, and product usage. Where those controls are available, you can manage marketing and analytics preferences through your settings and consent controls.
VibeBackers intends to provide a visible cookie preferences control so visitors can review and update their cookie choices. You may also be able to adjust certain consent preferences through your account settings if you are logged in.
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings, although blocking some cookies may affect parts of the platform.
Some communications are necessary to operate the platform safely and cannot be fully opted out of, such as account and security notices, payment or payout notices, milestone and review notices, trust and safety actions, and legally required communications.
For other categories, such as marketing and some product communications, you may be able to manage your preferences in your settings.
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, update, export, or request deletion of your personal data.
You can update much of your account, profile, privacy, and notification information from your dashboard settings.
If account deletion is made available through the platform, you may request deletion of your account from your account settings. If campaign, pledge, payout, reward, dispute, or audit obligations remain, the request may be routed for admin review before account data is removed or anonymised. In some cases, we may retain limited records where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, payment, tax, accounting, dispute, or compliance reasons.
Where deletion is processed, some historical content or activity may be removed, anonymised, or retained in limited form where necessary for lawful platform operations.
The platform may rely on third-party services such as Stripe, Google, GitHub, analytics providers, hosting providers, and email infrastructure. When you use features powered by those services, your information may also be processed under their systems and policies.
We take reasonable technical and operational measures to help protect your data, but no system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your own devices, accounts, and login credentials.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the platform evolves. When we do, we will update the published version on the site.
